Cook/Food Service Assistant, Part-time The Part-time Food Service Assistant will work alongside the Lead Cook in coordinating and preparing meal service/banquet events and assist in all phases of food preparation and dining room functions. This position will work with kitchen staff and ensure that all professional food preparation and quality control standards are followed to deliver outstanding service at Our Lady of Perpetual Retreat Center. Flexible schedule includes weekends and holidays. Training provided. Job Responsibilities Meal preparation for groups and individuals (max 125). Assist in menu planning and meal service schedules, ensuring all health department and USDA requirements and guidelines are followed. Maintains high standards of sanitation, food handling, preparation, and storage. Operate food service equipment in accordance with appropriate procedures. Assuring that the event space and dining room are set up for each meal service and break(s). This includes setting up dining tables, chairs and place settings with appropriate linens, silver, glassware, and condiments. Breakdown of any break or food service at the conclusion of meal service, clearing/wrapping/dating/storing extra food. Assist with directing volunteers on what is needed regarding meal service. Other tasks/duties as assigned.
