Responsibilities Prepares and cooks all items needed for patient tray line cafeteria and catering events. Prepares meals that are of good quality: seasoned properly proper doneness temperature consistency on time and presented attractively. Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques; confers with dietary personnel as necessary. Follows appropriate recipes as provided. Properly wraps dates and stores food. Uses proper body mechanics when handling food and kitchen equipment. Properly uses a thermometer for cooking and storing of foods. Follows modified diets for special patient care. Responsible for cooking to diet office tallies and forecasts. Responsible for keeping work area neat clean and organized. Responsible for rotation of foods in Cooks boxes.
Qualifications High School graduate or GED A minimum of two years recent experience as a cook or assistant cook. Fire Safety card required within 90 days of hire. This position is covered by SEIU-UHW and subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
