Reports To: Kitchen Manager, Parks & Rec Status: Full-Time & Part-Time (Non-Exempt - Hourly) Compensation Range: $16-$18 per hour (based on experience) Position Summary: The Cook creates memorable food experiences that exceed guest expectations while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. Operate and maintain key equipment including pizza ovens, conveyor ovens, flattop grills, fryers, and food processors. Handle specialized tools including pizza peels, dough dockers, and portion scales. Maintain consistent quality standards in presentation and taste. Follow recipes and portion controls accurately. Operate in multiple kitchen stations including prep, pizza, sandwich, and expo. Practice proper food handling and storage procedures. Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment. Maintain clean and organized work stations. Support prep tasks and kitchen projects as needed. Communicate effectively with kitchen and service team members. Monitor food quality and freshness. Execute opening and closing duties as assigned. Maintain knowledge of allergens and dietary restrictions. Assists with the preparation, cooking, and plating of food, according to recipes and specifications for Private Events of up to 300 people. Practice proper safety and sanitation procedures. Participate in training and knowledge development programs. Be ready and willing to help with other kitchen duties as needed. Spend up to 16 hours per year volunteering (paid) for MadTree Impact initiatives with excitement, encouraging your teammates to do the same. Qualification Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. 1+ year kitchen experience preferred. Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays. Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record. Skills & Abilities: Food Passion: Demonstrates enthusiasm for cooking and food preparation. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in hot environments. Ability to frequently reach, bend, and use hands and arms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment is usually that of a restaurant kitchen. The work environment includes exposure to heat and steam. The employee frequently works with kitchen equipment. The employee frequently works on wet floors and with hot surfaces. The position requires extended periods of standing and walking.
