Remedi SeniorCare is seeking a dynamic Control Room Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician to join our team and make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities.
Location: On site at our closed-door pharmacy (10448 Lakeridge Pkwy, Ashland, VA 23005)
Salary: Starting at 18 /hr (based on experience) + 1.50 shift diff
Available Schedule: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 4:30 pm – 1:00 am, rotating weekends (first one – two weeks must be available to work a 9 am – 5:30 pm training schedule)

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the understanding and working knowledge of the pharmacy computer systems, including, but not limited to Framework, DocuTrack and CIM as it pertains to controlled substance receipt and distribution functions to ensure accurate, timely information input
Assist with entering controlled substance orders to include, but not limited to, new orders, refills, DC’s, STAT orders, and clarifications as permitted by regulatory scope of technician practice
Responsible for packaging and labeling controlled substance medications into specialized packaging accurately per the valid prescription for final verification by pharmacist
Responsible for managing workflow and monitoring orders to ensure all controlled medications entered for dispensing have been packaged/labeled/verified and toted
Responsible for staging/toting all finished products and completing the chain of custody paperwork for handoff to couriers
Assist with maintaining accurate controlled substance documentation and records.
Responsible for entering/updating the pharmacy’s perpetual inventory system (CIM) for Schedule 2, 3, 4, & 5 medications dispensed, removed, or received
Assist with pre-packaging of controlled substances in anticipation of future use and maintenance of
appropriate documentation
Assist with fulfilling replenishment requests for long-term care facility’s on-site emergency supply.
Assist with coordination, replenishment, update and exchange of (exchange-type) controlled substance OSS
Assist with management of removal/disposition/replacement of expired OSS contents
Responsible for assisting in procedures surrounding outdated/unusable controlled substances including appropriate receipt, documentation and disposal or return to stock any outdated/unusable or excess inventory returned to the pharmacy
Assist with audits and inventories as directed
Responsible for unpacking and stocking items received from wholesaler (under the supervision of the pharmacist); and escalating to Supervisor or PIC immediately if items are missing or appear tampered
Responsible for assisting with maintaining appropriate inventory, including, but not limited to: Ensuring only NDC active in FW is available in active inventory
Ensuring proper disposition of inactive/unusable inventory
Ensuring appropriate documentation for receipt, dispensing and other disposition of controlled substances.
Ensure every tablet, capsule or other dosage form is appropriately accounted for.
Demonstrate understanding and adherence of all applicable Federal and State regulations pertaining to Company controlled drug practices and Company controlled substance Policies & Procedures.

regulations, including but not limited to: CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid)
Boards of Pharmacy
State Health Agencies
DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency)
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and related state agencies
Completes required Corporate Compliance training and act in accordance with Corporate Compliance Policies & Procedures: HIPAA/Privacy Policy
Medicare Part D General Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse

Perform other duties as directed or assigned
Work with pharmacists and other pharmacy technicians to improve pharmacy workflow process.

Assist and participate in maintaining a clean and orderly workplace including, but not limited to, common areas such as break rooms, restrooms, copier room, lobby and locker room areas.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; advanced certifications in pharmacy operations preferred
Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the VA State Board of Pharmacy required
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or fulfillment environment
Skills & Abilities:
This position requires the ability to exert up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally and/or lift, carry, push, or move objects. Position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time during shift
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team collaboration and customer focus
Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines with accuracy
Proficiency in pharmacy software and inventory management systems
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills to address equipment faults and workflow issues
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compliance
