Job Type: Full-time Job Title: Clinical Medical Assistant Department/Group: Clinical Position Type: Hourly non-exempt JOB DESCRIPTION Dermatology Solutions Group, LLC ("DSG") is a leading provider of professional management services to Southeastern Dermatology Group, P.A. ("SEDG"), a reputable medical practice known for its commitment to quality dermatological care. Located in Panama City, Florida, with several locations throughout the Southeast, our practice is staffed by a dedicated team of physicians specialized in dermatology. PURPOSE: The Clinical Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in assisting Medical Providers in the daily delivery of health care and management of patient care. You will report directly to the Office Administrator and work closely under the guidance of our physicians and advanced practice staff. SERVICE ORIENTATION: This position prioritizes exceptional patient experiences and outcomes through a patient-centered approach in all interactions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure a welcoming and positive patient experience across all forms of communication, including in-person, by phone, and online. Maintain accurate and complete patient records through timely documentation during and after patient visits. Assist with daily clinic duties, such as prepping patients for examination, documenting medical histories, verifying information, and taking vital signs when applicable. Review and complete surgical documents prior to procedures and confirm all necessary services are in place following practice protocols. Coordinate with Medical Providers regarding any pending patient tests or orders prior to visits. Respond effectively to patient inquiries and communications as quickly as possible. Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam and treatment rooms, ensuring proper stocking of supplies. Prepare and sterilize medical instruments, assuring readiness for clinical procedures. Ensure all necessary patient consents are secured before treatments begin. Administer injections and assist with various office procedures under the direction of Medical Providers. Manage patient e-prescriptions and medication requests in a timely manner. Verify patient and specimen information for accurate tracking. Coordinate scheduling and referrals to other medical providers as needed. Organize and maintain patient documentation in electronic health records. Facilitate medication prior authorizations as required. Adhere to Standards of Conduct and fulfill training and compliance obligations. Pursue ongoing professional development and maintain necessary certifications. Maintain confidentiality in all matters with patients and staff. Exhibit professionalism and respect towards all colleagues and patients at all times. Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management. Ability to travel to the main office and other satellite locations as needed. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of medical practice operations and patient care standards. Experience with examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures. Familiarity with medical equipment and safety protocols. Ability to assist with office procedures and take vital signs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical terminology. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED and current medical certification. Preferred one year of medical experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience; new graduates with strong motivation will be considered. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Ability to stand for extended periods, demonstrate full range of motion, and lift patients when necessary. Capability to operate various office and medical equipment. Normal hearing and eyesight capabilities for completing documentation and communication tasks. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required. Possess a valid driver's license and safe driving record. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position involves working in a controlled office environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure while addressing the needs of diverse populations, including patients, medical staff, and insurance representatives.
