Position Summary: As a Class B Diesel Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and converter dollies with minimal supervision. You will ensure that all work complies with State and Federal trucking regulations and maintain clear communication with your team to provide accurate and timely updates. Additionally, you will document and manage Work Orders for all repairs and parts used. Primary Responsibilities: Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on fleet diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units, while diagnosing root causes of failures and performing necessary repairs. Verify that all equipment has the required licensing and registration to be considered “roadworthy”. Thoroughly document all repairs and maintenance activities in our online Enterprise Asset Management system. Install, replace, and repair onboard computer systems. Inspect critical systems such as brakes, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings to confirm proper operating conditions, replacing parts as needed. Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication of equipment using various hand and power tools. Complete other related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including preventative maintenance, tire and wheel, air brakes, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration repair.
