Position Purpose:
As a pivotal part of the food supply chain, our delivery drivers ensure timely and undamaged delivery of products while serving as the face of our company. Your interactions will help build lasting relationships with customers while performing vital tasks.
Responsibilities: Conduct all required safety checks and inspections on vehicles to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Promptly report any safety concerns or required repairs.
Adhere to DOT regulations and company safe driving policies, reporting safety hazards immediately.
Check the load against customer invoices to ensure accuracy before departure.
Drive predetermined delivery routes to transport food and food-related products to customers.
Unload products at customer sites and transport items into designated storage areas.
Perform damage control checks, document issues, and communicate with supervisors as per company policy.
Verify deliveries with customers and obtain necessary signatures.
If required, collect payments in cash or check.
Load customer returns back onto the truck and ensure trailer security.
Ensure all equipment is safely secured and locked when not in use.
Complete a daily log of hours worked in accordance with Federal DOT and company requirements.
Maintain cleanliness of your vehicle, the loading dock area, and trailers as required.
Secure all equipment at the end of your shift and finalize all necessary paperwork.
Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 months commercial driving experience.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
Valid CDL B with airbrakes endorsement.
Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
Pass a road test.
Hold a valid current DOT Health Card or have the ability to secure one.
Capable of handling and lifting product cases/freight weighing between 10-90 pounds.
