Description
The Civil Engineering Sr Project Manager (Sr PM) is responsible for the overall supervision of commercial, industrial, municipal, and other civil projects. The Sr PMs focus will be providing utmost satisfaction to the client, aligning with DDGs core values. The Sr PM should strive to ensure projects are completed within the scheduled time and budget, operating with minimal oversight and utilizing staff and resources within DDGs offices. The Sr PM will oversee project development from preliminary design to construction completion. Experience with client coordination and communication is essential.
Activities + Responsibilities:
Work with the project team daily to achieve project objectives.
Communicate regularly with clients, politicians, municipalities, developers, and other stakeholders.
Maintain project objectives by providing staff and resources to keep projects on time and within budget.
Participate in team meetings to ensure project execution aligns with DDGs core values.
Establish and manage project budgets, avoiding overruns.
Maintain close communication with clients.
Market DDGs services to current and potential clients.
Prepare proposals and contracts for review.
Review invoices and billing reports to maintain budget adherence.
Set project completion dates and oversee scheduling.
Communicate project opportunities promptly to leadership.
Supervise project staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Continuously learn and implement lessons learned from past projects.
Assist the team in achieving objectives and improving management processes.
Mentor and support the development of project staff.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software (preferred).
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools for construction and repair of bridges, roads, and structures.
Understanding of safety regulations.
Problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Creativity and analytical thinking.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering.
PE licensure required; PE in Civil Engineering preferred.
Over 8 years of experience required; 10+ years preferred.
Experience managing 20+ projects from concept to completion.
Experience with local jurisdictional design and permitting.
Strong organizational and design skills.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Ability to travel to project sites.
Access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
