Position Overview: The Certified Veterinary Technician Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering top-notch care to our furry patients. Responsibilities include:
Welcoming clients and pets, obtaining vital signs and medical history.
Assisting veterinarians in various procedures, including surgeries and examinations.
Performing laboratory tests, maintaining medical records, and managing inventory.
Preparing patients for procedures, monitoring them post-anesthesia, and ensuring their comfort.
Administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff.
Helping train new team members and maintaining a clean, organized hospital environment.
Key Qualifications: To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:
A completed college education as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.
A minimum of one year of experience in a veterinary practice.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
A compassionate and professional demeanor, especially in high-stress situations.
Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new techniques.
A collective spirit that fosters teamwork and a positive work environment.
Work Environment: You will primarily work within the Vetco Total Care hospital. The role requires physical stamina, including lifting up to 30 pounds and standing for extended periods, while providing care and support to pets and their families.
