Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs advanced technical activities including preparation of sterile products, narcotic control, outpatient pharmacy operations, unit based drug modules (Pyxis/Diebold) inventory management or drug order receiving and inventory management. Performs two or more of the following functions. Works with dangerous substances and or highly technical equipment. Must recognize and avoid conditions that place patient safety at risk.
Job requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of at least one course of algebra (or high math equivalent) and one course of chemistry or biology.
Registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy is required.
Pharmacy Technician Certification or six (6) years pharmacy technician experience with demonstrated skills in unit dose, sterile products, distribution, and retail service lines.
