Rapid City Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Family Medicine department on a full-time, four-day work week schedule. This role offers a balanced approach to specialty care, where youll assess and manage patients in a clinic setting while collaborating closely with physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Performs a complete physical exam, obtains complete medical history andrecords findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
- Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis andtherapeutic plan.
- Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinicguidelines. Sutures minor lacerations.
- Instructs patient/family regarding medications and treatments.
- Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention.
- Recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needsof patients.
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
- Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
- Posts tests and examination results. Triages patient telephone calls andprovides consultation.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
CNP REQUIREMENTS: BSN, MSN preferred. Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program. Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting plus two years of nurse practitioner experience. Current state RN license and NP license.
Current CPR certification.
PA REQUIREMENTS: BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of AMA accredited physician assistant program. Minimum of one year experience as physician assistant, preferably in clinic setting. Current state PA license, certified by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Current CPR certification.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Combination of office and exam settings.
Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting.
Requires full range of body motion including handling & assisting patients,
manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
