Schedule: Part-Time, 24 hours a week.
Shifts: Wednesdays 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursdays 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Fridays 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM, and 1-2 Saturdays a month 7:30 AM - 2:15 PM, with Thursday off when working a Saturday.
Location: AdventHealth Allergy Asthma Bloomingdale Office - 303 E Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale.
Your role will include:
Assisting with patient examinations and treatments under the direction of a provider.
Administrative Duties:
Utilize computer applications including EMR, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Answer telephone calls and manage patient inquiries.
Update and file patient medical records.
Check-in patients and schedule appointments.
Clinical Duties:
Escort patients to testing and exam rooms, measure vital signs, and record all information in patient charts.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Perform phlebotomy and prepare/administer vaccinations as directed by a physician.
Explain testing procedures to patients.
Obtain and report abnormal test results to physicians.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications for Success:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be currently certified and maintain certification by one of the following:
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for Certified Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (AMT) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) for National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
National Healthcareer Association (NHA) for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to hire or job transfer date.
