The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving high-quality beverages while delivering exceptional guest service in both restaurant and banquet settings. This role supports the Food & Beverage Department by creating a welcoming environment, maintaining bar cleanliness and inventory, and upholding The Westgate Hotel's standards of luxury, efficiency, and hospitality.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with recipes and guest preferences
Provide professional and courteous service to guests at the restaurant bar, banquet events, and private functions
Set up and break down bar stations for banquets and events, ensuring all items are properly stocked and displayed
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, equipment, and supplies
Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with laws and hotel policy
Accurately input orders and process payments using the POS system
Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and requisitioning supplies
Collaborate with servers, banquet captains, and culinary teams to ensure seamless service flow
Report equipment or maintenance issues to management
Support other duties as needed to enhance the overall guest experience
Qualifications: Previous bartending experience in a restaurant, hotel, or banquet setting required
Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation
Excellent customer service, communication, and multitasking skills
Must be 21 years of age or older with current food handler and responsible beverage service certification (e.g., LEAD/TIPS)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain composure under pressure
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift
Ability to work in varied environments including banquet halls and restaurant outlets
