The Bartender at Wildflower Restaurant is responsible for providing excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment where residents can enjoy beverages (beer, wine, and mocktails) in a safe and relaxed setting. This role involves offering personalized service and creating meaningful social experiences while adhering to the preferences and needs of the residents. The bartender will be responsible for to-go orders at the bar and have closing responsibilities. The position is Monday-Friday, 3:30-9:00pm (27.5 hrs.). For the right candidate, this role could be made into full-time position.
Responsibilities: Greet and engage with residents and their guests in a warm & friendly manner, assisting diners to their seats as needed, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Build relationships and provide attentive & personalized service that caters to individual tastes and preferences, promoting an enjoyable mealtime experience. Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and prepare alcoholic beverages tickets for tables. Take meal and beverage orders accurately, ensures that meal flow is accurate, providing updates to kitchen on meal preparation timing. Adhere to Pipier Shores policies as well as state and local laws regarding alcohol service and health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Monitor residents for signs of intoxication and intervene appropriately. Adhere to all health and safety standards, including sanitation procedures for bar equipment, glasses, and serving areas. Monitor and maintain inventory and stocking of beverages and supplies. Take weekly beer & wine inventory and notify management of supply issues. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and that the area is safe and presentable at all times. Prepares bar in advance of service and cleans after service. Assists dining team with set up and break down as needed. Works closely with other department staff to support the overall needs of the restaurant and assist residents as needed. In the absence of a supervisor, the Bartender will perform all closing duties as outlined by the Manager, including supporting and assisting servers with closing duties. Practices safe work habits to avoid injury to self or others Qualifications & Physical Requirements: Must be 21 years of age or older Previous bartending experience preferred, ideally in a senior living or hospitality setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with residents in a friendly and empathetic manner. A person-centered approach to service, respecting individual needs and preferences. Organizational skills to keep the bar area clean, stocked, and orderly. Ability to understand and follow community policies related to alcohol service and health/safety regulations. Understanding of varietals of wine and beer types High school diploma or equivalent required Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English required Moderate to heavy physical effort 75% of the workday. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods during the day. Must be able to stoop and work from a kneeling position; perform repetitive bending, reaching and stretching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. independently.
