The Sonnenalp is seeking an On-call Banquets Server on Call. Primary Purpose of Position Banquet servers are responsible for all conference services events from set-up, to servicing, to breakdown, to cleanup. The Banquet staff is often required to act as host, busser, inventory controller and other duties while carrying out the specific duties of their position. The position requires working closely with a high volume of demanding clientele and other staff. Banquet staff must not only be congenial, but able to attend to customer requests in an efficient and timely manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO's) at the beginning of each shift to ensure room is set as contracted Confirm and setup A/V equipment needs to contract for the event Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel Maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness in all areas of the banquet spaces Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Manager Polish silverware and flatware; roll napkins Set room with banquet furniture and all other requests Know and adhere to LHW sequence of service and standards React to last minute changes in a professional manner Act as a responsible, personable representative of the Sonnenalp team Education/Experience Banquet experience in a luxury hotel preferred Basic understanding of wine and cocktails Personable disposition which is maintained in pressure situations Strong organizational skills Special Skills/Equipment Experience with POS desired TIPS certification preferred Essential Physical Requirements Ability to work a flexible schedule Long hours are required at times; 8-12 hour shifts, up to 50 hours per week Ability to carry up to 40 lbs regularly Resort Discounts Holiday Pay & Sick Pay 401(k) Retirement Plan & Roth 401(k) *After one year and 1000 hours worked Employee Assistance Program Short Term and Long Term Disability Parking Credit or Discounted Bus Passes Employee Meal Paid Community Service Employee Conduct It is the responsibility of every employee to contribute to a positive work environment through cooperative and professional interactions with co-workers, guests and vendors .
