General Summary The Band Directors role is to establish a schedule with the Band members that offers ample time to create and improve upon the music they perform. This individual will supervise all aspects of the Band, including practices and performances. Additionally, this person is responsible for most aspects of recruiting in the program. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist in recruitment and retention of qualified new band members to add to the total number of 25 band members Obtain and teach new music with the help of the Spirit Director Oversee rehearsals and practices Coordinate all aspects of performances - both at Indiana Tech and in the Community Assist the Athletic Director with budgeting funds for maintaining the band Be comfortable in dealing with a diverse student population Complete other duties as assigned by the head coach or the athletic director Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of Indiana Tech
Measures of Accomplishment Determine when annual goals and objectives are set with the Spirit Director.
Qualifications Bachelors degree required
Experience Minimum 1-year musical directing preferred
Working Conditions Work is normally performed in a typical interior remote/office work environment or gymnasium.
