Associate Mental Health Director

This position is engaged in leading the clinical integration of mental health and primary care services and provides clinical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of cost effective and high-quality mental health and behavioral health services that result in optimal patient experience. Responsibilities also include the development and implementation of innovative wellness initiatives and clinical programs that complement and enhance East Valley Community Health Center's (EVCHC) practice. The Associate Mental Health Director provides expertise to the CEO, CMO and the Board of Directors.
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Achieve patients' timely and appropriate access to services by maintaining a consistent and balanced clinical workforce.
Recruitment and Retention of licensed and unlicensed clinical staff; Orientation, Training and clinical supervision to ACSW's and or MSW-level students; Ensures all eligible providers go through the Credentialing & Privileging process in a timely manner; Proactively manages talent through implementation of the Performance Review processes, including 90 day evaluations, annual evaluations, and performance improvement plans; Develops a talented and motivated staff by ensuring engagement and satisfaction; Oversees clinicians' schedules and coverage plans including after-hours coverage; Maintains positive relationships with internship programs and or local Universities; Builds a strong pipeline of talent by ensuring that MSW/BSW interns are actively recruited and integrated into the EVCHC practice throughout the year.
Achieve optimal patient care and satisfaction by integrating Mental Health & Patient Support services with medical services. Develops and implements operational plans that achieve seamless integration; Integrates mental health into the Team-based practice; including task delegation and Behavioral Health/ Patient Support Service workflows; Develops and implements training programs for medical staff (providers and support staff) to maximize MH/PSS provider utilization; Ensures participation of MH/PSS providers in medical team huddles and case conferences Ensure all patients receive the highest standards of care by maintaining Quality Improvement (QI) indicators. Develops and maintains clinical Quality Improvement (QI) indicators that provide qualitative and quantitative measures on the overall patient population. Facilitates weekly supervision meetings for clinicians. As appropriate, leads EVCHC participation in clinical MH initiatives to decrease mental health disparities among our patient population; As appropriate, develops therapeutic and support groups that will advance the patients' health and their compliance with treatment plans; Reviews and implements current initiatives related to grant funding and required clinical protocols and workflows within our medical clinics. Working closely with Clinic Managers of each of EVCHC's locations in order to ensure that workflows facilitate the integration Ensuring clinicians' competence within their scope. Assists and/or completes additional tasks as assigned.
Meets budgetary revenue requirements by ensuring both MH & PSS departments at all levels meet their productivity benchmarks which will achieve continued funding. Establishes productivity standards that are effective, attainable and meet revenue requirements for both MH and PSS programs; During budget process or as appropriate, establishes a staffing mix that is effective and maximizes billing and productivity standards; Monitors MH/PSS provider productivity, attends all HealthPlan, county or grant meetings required for all MH and PSS programs and implements corrective measures as necessary for compliance purposes; Monitors MH and PSS providers' compliance with health records and billing documentation completion; Monitors MH/PSS providers' referral patterns to include Unite US data platform and or other referral databases. In conjunction with Clinic Managers monitors demand and supply for Behavioral Health assessments and services in order to ensure appropriate provider staffing. Provides leadership and planning to ensure appropriate collaborations and agreements are in place to serve homeless individuals. Establishes internal and external processes for homeless patients and creates an environment of accountability for all PSS team members. Leads and directs others through change processes. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in Social Work Current valid license as a clinical social worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. Registered to provide Clinical Supervision. Must have performed clinical supervision for at least two years. At least five years of experience in a community-based setting. Direct program management and program implementation experience. Community-based setting preferred. Must have knowledge of program development and evaluation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) and bi-cultural preferred. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheet programs. Working Conditions/Physical/Mental Abilities and Processes :

DOE: $100,000 -$114,650
