Role Title: Assistant Underwriter-Medical - 1 Post Business Unit: Rwanda Business / Function: Assistant Underwriter-Medical Reports To: Senior Underwriter MDP Level: Manager of self Role Size: K Job Summary Provides support to underwriting staff, performing administrative duties related to new and renewal accounts, risk assessments, and loss runs. Assists underwriters with rate and premium computations. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Calculates premiums and provides medical insurance quotations for new clients. Reviews applications and assesses risks for medical insurance eligibility. Collaborates with agents, brokers, customer service, and insureds via phone, email, and mail to issue policies and resolve issues. Assesses financial risks related to insuring individuals or corporates. Negotiates policy terms with brokers and policyholders. Enrols clients, issues contracts, and follows up on coverage. Processes reimbursement invoices. Performs additional underwriting tasks as needed. Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies University degree in Insurance or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong assessment and analytical skills. Knowledge of medical insurance risk assessment. Good interpersonal skills.
