Essential Duties & Responsibilities : The Assistant Project Manager assists with providing the planning, coordination, and direction for project management activities to ensure they meet owner needs, specifications, cost, and schedule, from initial project identification through construction closeout. This includes technical and administrative duties such as drawings management, document management, and construction management support. May supervise office/field administrative staff or project/field engineers and other assigned staff. Assist the Project Manager in developing project-specific procedures, documentation, and related A/E systems. Ensure compliance with construction/project requirements by understanding contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications. Manage data, information, communications, and approvals among owner, architects, engineers, and other project entities. Support project controls, cost, performance activities, project logistics, organization, systems, and closeout. Participate in project meetings, including documentation, administration, and tracking relevant information. Coordinate and monitor activities of construction management staff, contractors, engineers, and architects. Manage drawings, perform contract correspondence, document control, input data into project systems, and prepare status reports. Maintain and update drawings, specifications, logs, and RFIs. Maintain project files and document/drawing management systems, ensuring efficient communication with designers and contractors. Distribute documents and drawings, maintain logs. Assist in RFI tracking and follow-up, maintaining RFI logs in the project information system. Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture; extensive relevant experience may substitute. At least 5 years of experience in construction management, especially in aviation-related projects. Ability to interpret and manage complex aviation construction programs and communicate progress and challenges effectively. Experience working in high-security, fast-paced airport environments with a proactive approach. Initiative and capacity for greater responsibilities. Proven track record in aviation or transportation infrastructure projects. Professional growth demonstrated through increased responsibilities and successful project delivery. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Broad experience with airport facilities, FAA, TSA, and regulatory bodies. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with Prolog, Primavera P6, and airport-specific systems. Experience with Design/Build, CM-at-Risk, or Progressive Design-Build delivery methods. Professional certifications like CCM, PMP, or EIT are highly desirable. Possession of a California PE license is a plus. Offered salary range: $110,000 - $126,000, based on education, experience, and location.
