Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Type: Day Position Overview Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) to join our partner's Operating Room team in Portland, OR. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned Registered Nurse with a strong background in surgical settings, who is ready to manage clinical and operational activities and mentor a large team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services. This is a pivotal role that requires a commitment to professional nursing standards, a passion for patient safety, and proven leadership experience to deliver exceptional patient-focused care.
Qualifications Required: • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (BS, or BSN). • Current Oregon Registered Nurse License. • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification. • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an Acute Care Operating Room. • Minimum of 1 year of nursing leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Relief Charge Nurse, or higher).
Preferred: • Shared Governance experience.
Key Responsibilities Operational Oversight • Manage clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift. • Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the services of the unit. • Provide managerial presence for all shifts to ensure seamless operations within the department's 27 operating rooms.
Staff Management & Leadership • Manage clinical and non-clinical caregivers, providing coaching, mentoring, and collaboration to a team of approximately 143 staff members. • Provide input to the director/manager for performance evaluations. • Foster a positive and supportive team environment.
Quality Improvement & Compliance • Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements. • Implement and monitor compliance with policies, processes, and clinical priorities to deliver quality health care to patients.
