Position Overview: As an Assistant Manager at Duluth Trading Company, you will embody our 'Go for WOW!' customer service standard. Your mission is to ensure every customer is treated right and to seek opportunities to create exceptional experiences. What You'll Do: Sales and Goals Achievement: Lead the team to exceed sales and profitability targets. Train and develop associates to improve key performance indicators. Maintain effective merchandise presentation aligned with visual standards and current promotions.

Customer Service: Engage with customers personally and set high expectations for your team. Develop strong knowledge of the Duluth brand and products to provide friendly, solution-oriented service. Work with the Store Manager to ensure optimal staffing for customer engagement. Accurately record customer profile information. Maintain cleanliness standards across all store areas including sales floors, stockrooms, and hospitality sections.

Human Resources/Leadership Skills: Collaborate with the Store Manager to recruit, train, and motivate staff. Address team members with professionalism and integrity. Make independent decisions and provide regular feedback to the team. Ensure all HR protocols and documentation are completed timely. Participate in setting goals for the leadership team. Lead by example and remain open to feedback. Identify opportunities for improvement and discuss them with the Store Manager.

Store Operations: Understand and manage inventory and expense controls. Guide team members in handling merchandise receipts efficiently. Oversee the visual merchandising of the sales floor. Train staff on cash handling and reporting procedures to ensure compliance. Secure the store and respond to alarms as necessary. Communicate safety concerns to the Store Manager or HR.

What We're Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or Merchandising preferred. Three years of retail experience, including at least one year in a management role. Customer-centric mindset with the ability to adapt in a growing environment. Strong leadership abilities and a talent for motivating others. Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills. Goal-oriented with a focus on results. Excellent communication and listening skills. Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively. Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Environmental Factors: Ability to stand or walk for up to eight hours daily. Frequent reaching, bending, and twisting motions. Repetitive hand motions and ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Climbing ladders and using common tools for floor sets. Working in temperatures ranging from 50 to 80 degrees. Computer usage, making up to 60% of the workday.
