POSITION TITLE: Assistant Manager of Campus Operations: Full-Time

SALARY: $19.72/hour

DEPARTMENT: Facilities /Operations

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and IT

Schedule: Flexible (Weekends Required)


The Assistant Manager of Campus Operations ensures the facility's functionality by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, equipment, and grounds, while prioritizing safety and efficiency

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs routine inspections and maintenance on buildings, systems, exhibits and equipment to identify potential issues.
  • Makes minor building repairs (e.g., fixing drywall, patching floors, repairing doors, and repairing exhibits).
  • Troubleshoots and resolves basic equipment malfunctions.
  • Replaces light bulbs, fuses, and other minor components.
  • Maintains and cleans restrooms, and other designated areas.
  • Assists with larger repair projects, collaborating with specialized technicians when necessary.
  • Keeps the facility clean and tidy (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, removing trash).
  • Ensures proper storage of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment longevity.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Assists with setup and breakdown of special events.
  • Documents maintenance activities.
  • Follows safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates with other team members and contractors.
  • Supervises facility volunteers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC KNOWLEDGE

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and building maintenance practices.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to use hand and power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Familiarity with blueprints and repair manuals.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be available to work days, nights and weekends with a flexible schedule.
  • Standing for two to four hours shifts.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs, ladders, scaffolding, etc.
  • Frequent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, stooping, crouching, kneeling
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to be near or around loud noises.

MOSI is open 363 days a year. Employees may be required to work some holidays.

MOSI has a 401(k) Plan in place to help employees save for retirement. Employees become eligible in the Plan after six months. After that time, MOSI will contribute 3% of your salary and will match your employee contribution up to 4%.
