Overview Assistant General Manager, you are a vital member of the base leadership team, helping guide a cross-functional staff in delivering safe, seamless, and hospitality-driven service to guests, residents, and flight crews in a private aviation setting. You oversee daily operations, coordinate ramp operations, guest services, and team performance, and lead the private aviation terminal in the General Managers absence. You will model hands-on, approachable leadership while ensuring an efficient and elevated guest experience. This role requires flexibility with scheduling that may include nights, holidays, and weekends. You must be comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments, near active aircraft and ground service equipment, and in varying weather conditions. Responsibilities Oversee all business functions of the PAT including proper delivery of services, equipment and maintenance, condition of facilities, and staffing. Collaborate with the General Manager in maintaining existing business and developing new business. Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Act as company liaison in matters related to the airport community. Manage and direct activities of subordinate leaders and team members, including scheduling, coordinating duties, conducting meetings, and managing special events. Handle time and attendance administration and processing of new team members. Lead base operations safely and efficiently in line with SOPs, ensuring clear communication to accomplish tasks. Manage performance of team members, address deficiencies, and administer corrective action as needed. Interview, onboard, train, and manage team members; oversee engagement and development. Ensure all airline-required training is administered and completed by team members. Serve as a resource on guest service matters and an escalation point for guest inquiries. Provide onsite business development support and relationship management with residents. Maintain knowledge of Signature facilities, services, and commonly asked information by guests. Collaborate with team members and guests to ensure services are handled promptly and professionally, with effective information transfer between parties. Perform ramp operations as needed to meet service requirements for guests, clients, vendors, and aircraft crew. Prepare for arriving/departing aircraft, identify open tasks, and address safety concerns; conduct safety observations and document accordingly. Assist with regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting for airport or government parties if requested. Manage inventory of base supplies, uniforms, and equipment in compliance with procurement and expensing procedures. Maintain security of premises including street-side areas, parking lots, terminal, hangars, and AOA. Oversee GSE and facilities maintenance operations; ensure safe, clean, and secure ramps and operations. Conduct accident investigations to determine root causes and report as required. Administration of HSSE software; oversee fuel quality control activities. Understand, comply with, and enforce all operational, safety, and guest service requirements; stop work if unsafe conditions arise. Follow emergency response procedures during critical events; enforce all security protocols as dictated by Company and airport. Maintain accurate records of time worked, activities, and services; payroll oversight/compliance may be required. Qualifications Minimum Education and/or Experience Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university or 35 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. 12 years in aviation or cargo operations and 12 years in managing a team are required. Training and approval to perform required certifications (e.g., towing, deicing) as required by base operations is preferred; ability to become approved is required. Minimum of 18 years of age; ability to pass background checks, drug tests, airport background checks, and obtain an airport security badge; insurable by company policies. Excellent vision and coordination to move/direct aircraft and inspect aircraft fuel; color vision tested as needed. Legally authorized to work; valid state drivers license; some bases may require CDL. Additional Essential Knowledge And Skills Leadership: ability to assign tasks, provide feedback, administer corrective action, and motivate others. Hospitality: strong guest service orientation with ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment; professionalism and confidentiality; conflict resolution experience preferred. Language: English literacy for safety rules, instructions, reports; clear communication in person, by radio, and in writing. Financial: basic knowledge of operating budget and P&L; understanding of margins and costs. Communication: proficient in phone, radio, email, and text; effective public speaking and inquiries handling. Physical: able to operate vehicles and ground support equipment; navigate in varied environments. Critical Thinking: problem-solving with limited standardization; interpret various instructions. Interpersonal: strong collaboration with team members and guests. Multitasking: manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. Computer: proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of learning company software. Task Management: strong time/project management and ability to complete training programs. Compensation Pay ranges vary based on factors; the pay range for this position is $95,000 - $118,800 per year.
