Sonoran Roots is looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our team in the role of Assistant Director of Retail. This is a full-time, exempt salaried position, Monday - Friday, with additional days and hours worked as needed.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Assistant Director of Retail is responsible for overseeing daily operations across all retail facilities throughout the organization. This role supports the Departmental Director by assisting with the observation, implementation, and management of retail functions and personnel. The Assistant Director will operate on a rotating schedule among retail locations and is expected to demonstrate a high level of expertise in retail operations. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Retail should collaborate effectively with related departments, such as Inventory, Procurement, Sales/Distribution & Marketing. The role requires a professional demeanor and thorough communication of departmental needs to the Director.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily store operations and fill in for store level General Manager(s) as needed.
- Uphold retail policies and procedures with a heavy emphasis on compliance.
- Assist in maintaining company standards for retail locations by ensuring cleanliness, organization, and an appealing visual environment to enhance customer experience
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies to drive increased foot traffic, sales and customer engagement.
- Assist in ensuring the store complies with all safety, compliance & operational standards. Report any retail operational concerns and recommend improvement strategies to the Director.
- Regularly collaborate with the Director to assess and make retail operations more efficient.
- Assist in monitoring store expenses and budgets, and work with the Director to identify opportunities to grow sales and profit.
- Hold retail personnel accountable to the departmental standards put in place.
- Act as a support for the Retail Managers in handling day to day operations and enhancing interdepartmental relationships.
- Report any issues, threats, or inconsistencies in retail operations or personnel to the Director.
- Consistently remain compliant with all legal and/or company regulations for the industry
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
- At least one (1) year of experience as a General Manager of a high volume retail dispensary, preferably in Arizona
- Self motivated individual able to work independently and productively in teams.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Strategic thinking in forward planning and setting priorities aligned with departmental goals.
- Strong Managerial experience and ability to cultivate healthy working relationships.
- Outstanding capability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges that arise in the workplace.
- Excels in communication and allocating tasks effectively for self and team.
- Assist in analyzing data to inform operational decisions, including staffing, sales strategies, and discount policies.
- Evaluate local and regional competition to enhance overall performance and increase same-store sales.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Inspires professionalism in the work environment and upholds our team's quality standards.
- Must be compliant with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required):
- Must be 21+ years old.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain an AZDHS Facility Agent Card.
- Prior experience in the cannabis industry is preferred
- 3-5+ years of experience in retail management, showing increasing responsibility and success.
- Experience leading a team & managing personnel
- Criminal background check will be performed; most marijuana-related crimes will not negatively impact an application.
- Reliable transportation.

- $80,000 Base Pay
