JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW: The Assistant Dental Director (ADD)collaborates with Chief Dental Officer (CDO) to support and develop the integration of dental care services at the clinic site level. The ADD is responsible for developing the clinical staff and optimizing clinical operations. The ADD will also provide dental services for a panel of patients.This position requiresthe flexibilityto travel from site to site as needed.

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS/TRAINING
Education: Must have a DDS or DMD from an accredited school of dentistry.
Experience/Lived Experience: 3 years of practice in all aspects of general dentistry, preferably in a community-based dental clinic.2 years of management experience in a dental clinic/practice/program.
Special Skills/Training: Must be licensed to practice dentistry in the State of California.Current CPR certification and DEA registration required.Must maintain CEUs as required for license renewal.DriversLicense Required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrate mission, vision, and values while assisting in leading a dental care team to provide quality dental care to patients.
2. Demonstrates core leadership behavior and professional communication to ensurecultureof excellence and accountability.
3. Collaborates with CDO and Operations to support and maintain quality measures and departmental goals set forth to obtain strategic organizational goals.
4. Demonstrates a high level of clinical dental experience encompassing scope of practice to support patients andmentorsdentistto provide quality care.
5. Provides high level patient care following clinical guidelines and evidence-based dentistry. Promotes a patient centered health home by collaborating with medical professionals and ancillary staff to provide comprehensive care.
6. Completes performance management, including recognitions/coaching/counseling, and performance evaluations for dental providers. Assists with performance improvement plans and discipline as needed.
7. Establishes clinical reviews of providers’ clinical skills and provides coaching or support as needed on an individual or group basis for their respective dental clinics.
8. Provides mentorship and support for the professional development of DDS/DMD, RDH, RDA, DA.
9. Responsible for orientation andtraining ofproviders and other new staff.
10. Personnel Management: Responsible for timekeeping, evaluations, counseling, and other management responsibilities as delegated by CDO.
11. Initiates and completes risk management activities in a timely manner.
12. Assistswithmaintaining productivity standards. Supports the development of the departmental budget and maintains site budget.
13. Coordinates, schedule and supervise student rotations of dentist, hygienist, and dental assistants
14. Completes peer review in a timely manner. Collaborates to provide oversite of provider peer review process.
15. Responsible for assisting in the development and review of dental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
16. Ensures patient satisfaction at the clinic is optimal and follows up with concerns as needed.
17. Collaborate with team to compose and lead site meetings. Maintains check-ins with providers and meetings with supervisor/manager as needed.
18. Connects with manager/supervisors to provide leadership support with schedules, event planning, patient experience, and compliance to ensure smooth operations of the department.
19. In the absence of CDO,maycarry out the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of the CDO.
20. Attends and participates in required meetings, training, and educational programs.
21. Participates and assists with the coordination of outreach events.
22. Conducts/coordinates/develops ongoing training/workflows/procedures as needed for the department.
23. Performs other duties as assigned by CDO.
