The Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC) seeks a qualified individual for the Assistant Contracts Administrator (Contract Specialist 3) position. This role is within the Operations Division and is based out of our Tumwater Office.

About the Position 

Are you a seasoned contract professional ready to take on a high-impact role? We’re looking for an Assistant Contracts Administrator (Contracts Specialist 3) to lead and shape the contracting process for our agency.

In this pivotal position, you will serve as the agency’s top contract authority, taking the lead on the negotiation, development, and management of complex contracts, interagency agreements, data sharing agreements, leases, and MOUs/MOAs. You'll play a vital role in securing the goods and services that drive our mission forward.

You'll also serve as the go-to expert for resolving challenging contract issues—whether it’s a dispute, protest, or compliance question—ensuring smooth execution and alignment with state and agency policies.

This is a Washington General Service position. The monthly salary range for this position is $5,666 - $7,622.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED

AND 

* Four (4) years of full-time (40 hours per week or equivalent) professional experience within a finance, accounting or payroll office.

* A degree involving major study in public administration, business administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics or closely allied field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or a foreign equivalent will substitute year for year for professional work experience.

AND 

Three (3) years of full-time experience (at the journey level or above) in negotiating, administering or terminating government contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis or contract compliance administration.
