JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Nathan S. Kline Institute is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Human Resources Specialist vacancy at the Nathan S. Kline Institute.
JOB DUTIES:
The incumbent will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the Institute's Human Resources program in accordance with applicable laws, rules, policies, and negotiated agreements. This includes, but is not limited to: maintenance of personnel records; producing reports; composing letters and emails; recruitment activities; setting up interviews; onboarding activities to include processing background clearances; orienting and training of new employees; attendance and leave functions, utilizing electronic timekeeping systems; payroll activities; employee benefits administration; staff development and training responsibilities; and providing guidance, training, and assistance to all levels of Institute employees on matters relating to HR. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of work matters.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associate degree or two years of relevant experience
• Strong computer skills/proficient with the Microsoft Suite products
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements:
Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
