HDC owns and/or manages over 3,000 apartments, providing housing that is safe and affordable to those with lower incomes, focusing on seniors, families, and individuals living with disabilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following statements reflect the general duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job and should not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements of the position. HDC may change the specific job duties with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization.

Performs feasibility and due diligence analysis for real estate projects; identifies and completes multiple administrative procedures and requirements in helping to close real estate deals. Projects will include new construction, acquisition and/or rehabilitation.

· Provide high-level administrative support to the SVP of Real Estate Development, Director of Project Management, and development staff.

· Manage department calendars, schedule internal/external meetings, and coordinate logistics (conference rooms, Zoom/Teams, travel).

· Prepare, proofread, and format correspondence, reports, board materials, and funding applications.

· Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems for development projects, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and funding agency requirements.

· Track critical deadlines for financing applications, due diligence items, and closing deliverables; send reminders and assist staff in timely submission.

· Support preparation of presentations, proposals, and project status updates for investors, lenders, and community partners.

· Assist with compiling and organizing documents for closings, funding applications, and regulatory submissions.

· Coordinate invoice processing, expense reports, and budget tracking with Finance.

· Serve as the department’s first point of contact—answer phones, manage inquiries, and direct requests to the appropriate staff.

· Update and maintain development project databases, contact lists, and shared drives.

· Provide administrative support for community meetings, public hearings, and site visits, including preparation of materials and logistics.

- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Real Estate Development department.

- Plan and coordinate Round Table Events quarterly

Education, experience, and special requirements:

· Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, or related field preferred or a minimum of 2–3 years of administrative experience, ideally supporting a real estate, construction, legal, or nonprofit organization.

· Experience with affordable housing, real estate development, or property management is a plus but not required.

Normal work environment:

•Work environment will be indoors and outdoors and will require moderate travel.

•Requires moderate physical demands; lifting up to 25 pounds, continuous standing, bending, walking, and lifting.
