About the Role
Valley Cooperative Association (VCA) is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Account Manager to grow and manage a thriving sales territory. In this role, you’ll be both a trusted advisor and the face of VCA—building strong partnerships with existing members/customers while developing new business opportunities. You’ll identify and qualify leads, present tailored solutions, promote our programs, and coordinate with both customers and internal teams to deliver exceptional service. Your ability to connect with people, manage details, and strategically plan your territory will be key to your success.
What You’ll Do
Lead Generation & Sales
- Manage the full sales cycle—identify opportunities, qualify leads, present quotes, and close sales.
- Promote VCA programs to address customer needs, differentiate our offerings, and grow market share.
- Maintain a proactive outreach schedule to strengthen relationships and achieve territory goals.
- Develop and refine target customer lists to focus efforts on high-value opportunities.
- Build lasting partnerships through regular sales calls, events, and follow-ups.
- Collaborate with customers to forecast inventory needs and adjust stock levels for efficiency and satisfaction.
- Keep CRM data accurate and organized to improve communication and support long-term relationship building.
- Record customer interactions, sales activities, and market data in CRM and sales tools for visibility and alignment.
- Partner with internal teams to streamline processes, solve operational challenges, and speed up the sales cycle.
- Monitor inventory and shipment status to ensure on-time deliveries and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Apply VCA policies and procedures to maintain compliance, consistency, and a professional work environment.
- Prepare reports, share insights, and participate in training to continually enhance performance.
- Represent VCA with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering value.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent driving, standing, and walking; occasional bending, lifting, pushing/pulling, and reaching.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Marketing preferred.
- 1-3 years of product or service sales experience, ideally in a consultative role.
- Proven ability to manage accounts, resolve customer concerns, and drive revenue growth.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver’s license (company vehicle provided).
