*ROLE OVERVIEW:*
The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Lead is responsible for supervising operations on the production floor, ensuring that safety protocols are followed, production targets are met, and quality standards are maintained. This role serves as the key point of contact for the shift and coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth operations. And also will be working in the production line hands on.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*
· Oversee daily production activities and ensure production schedules are met.
· Support team members by leading hands-on manufacturing of advanced materials.
· Provide direction, guidance, and training to direct reports.
· Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and company policies.
· Monitor and report on shift performance metrics (e.g., output, downtime, scrap, etc.).
· Conduct shift change meetings and communicate key priorities.
· Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and other departments to resolve issues promptly.
· Escalate issues to management as needed and provide feedback for process improvement.
· Ensure cleanliness and organization of the production floor.
· Fill out production reports and shift logs accurately and on time.
*REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*
· Problem-Solving: Quick decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 75 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
· Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in a manufacturing environment, with 1+ year in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
· Knowledge: Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality standards.
· Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead teams, resolve conflict, and drive performance.
· Communication: Clear and effective communication skills – both verbal and written.
· Technical Skills: Ability to read work orders, understand machine operations, and use basic computer systems for reporting.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
· Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
*· *First Aid/CPR or Safety Certification
