Certified Pharmacy Technician Contract Position in Clearwater, FL

A well-established pharmacy operation in Clearwater, Florida is actively seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support its retail operations. This is a 13-week contract role ideal for professionals with prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting who are ready to contribute to a high-performing team. Duration: 13 Weeks

Work Hours: Monday through Friday | 9:00 AM 5:30 PM

Location: Clearwater, FL

Estimated Start: As soon as onboarding is complete ( to 2 weeks post-offer)

Position Summary:

This role involves a combination of technical support and customer-facing responsibilities. The technician will assist with the full cycle of prescription processing, inventory oversight, and coordination of insurance claims, while ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations. Key Responsibilities: Input prescription data accurately and manage workflow through internal systems

Resolve issues with third-party insurance claims and denials

Package and label prescriptions for pharmacist verification

Monitor and maintain inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and track expirations

Support return processing, quarantine handling, and proper medication disposal

Float across various pharmacy tasks as needed

Maintain full compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare, and insurance protocols

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent

Active Florida pharmacy technician license

National certification (PTCB) required

2+ years of pharmacy experience, ideally in a retail or high-volume setting

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Previous experience in a pharmacy call center is a plus
