Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Operations ASM is to foster a commitment to generate an in-stock position to satisfy every customer by having the right product, in the right quantity, at the right time. This role oversees the processes related to inventory management, tracks the inventory record accuracy (IRA) percent, and researches inventory inaccuracies. Following the research of inaccuracies, the Operations ASM is responsible for addressing any issues and communicating and retraining the rest of the staff to prevent the same issues from happening again.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
* Provide excellent representation of Kabelin Ace Hardware through fully embodying the company's core values and what it means to be "The Helpful Place". * Lead by example and maintain approachability for associates and customers. * Participate in store meetings. * Drive store sales to meet and exceed the Plan. * Prepare and strive for future career advancement. * Observe, monitor, and coach associate performance on the sales floor. * Possess in-depth product knowledge and familiarity with store layout and product locations.
Operations
* Familiarize and stay updated on Kabelin Inventory Best Practices. * Train store staff on best practices and create a culture that is focused on Inventory Health. * Collaborate with associates to help identify errors and correct them as necessary by addressing the root causes. * Ensure data accuracy within the system to maintain adequate inventory levels. * Oversee the process of cycle counting and shooting the outs, research variances, and make corrections as needed. * Monitor shrinkage, recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage, and make corrections in inventory system. * Oversee cash office operations. * Ensure efficient receiving, sorting, and stocking of deliveries according to best practices. * Maintain accurate location codes on the sales floor and warehouse. * Review, monitor, and process purchase orders and credit POs. * Manage product inventory levels, including suggested orders, non-stock ordering, and stock not kept ordering. * Review inventory management reports at appropriate times - daily, weekly, or monthly. * Support the Warehouse/Delivery Supervisor in planning and coordinating delivery scheduling for timely and organized deliveries.

Compensation
* $37k - $45k / year. The role requires 45 hours/week and ability to work every other weekend.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* High School or GED equivalent. * Valid in-state driver's license with an acceptable driving record. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. * Passion for detail, inventory management, and store operations. * The drive to get things done the "right way". * General understanding of inventory principles and experience with retail programs. * Understand the life cycle of merchandise including receipt, quantity on hand, and point of sale. * Experience in a retail environment either in inventory, sales, or back office. * Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, and high attention to detail. * Possess product knowledge of consumable products along with a willingness to learn.
